I have recently been working part-time with Xdeep Technologies Ltd, a small Cork based company specializing in mobile technology. It proved very beneficial as I received hands-on experience in various aspects of development with particular focus in the following areas: J2EE, J2ME, JSP Development using Struts, XML.

I successfully completed my third year work placement of three months with Sysgo Real Time Solutions in Germany. During this time, I gained exposure to many Real Time Operating System concepts and also gained experience in command line programming. My involvement in some extra curricular activities such as the local rugby team allowed me to develop my knowledge of the German language. I now have a working knowledge of German.

For my final year project, I developed a Java Based Email System and deployed it on the Internet using a Blazix Web Server. Some of the technologies used include: Jbuilder , Applets, SMTP, POP3, RMI.
